Job Summary:

The Genesis Church Outreach Coordinator will work with the Outreach Director to lead, guide, and shepherd several of the outreach ministries at Genesis Church. This includes Actions & Truth, Morning Mana, and other programs developed by the outreach committee. In addition, they will provide administrative support for all Genesis Outreach ministries.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead and shepherd the outreach programs of Genesis Church, especially as it pertains to welcoming the community into our space for services and relationship building.

  • Primary leadership of the Morning Manna and Actions&Truth ministries at Genesis Church. This includes, but is not limited to – food pantry, clothes closet, shower assistance, and breakfast on Sunday.

  • Meet monthly with finance department to review and assess assistance budget.

  • Lead and shepherd the volunteer teams of the outreach ministries.

  • Work with community members experiencing crisis or needing ongoing support – equipping them with the necessary available resources.

  • Provide assistance and direction for office requests.

  • Work alongside MHM Outreach Coordinator to develop supportive ministries for individuals affected by addiction.

  • Provide planning and operational support for outreach events and seasonal programs (e.g. Cold Weather Shelter)

  • Develop and maintain key community partnerships with local agencies and nonprofit organizations.

  • Provide primary administrative support for outreach ministries.

  • Other duties as assigned by Outreach Director.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as Program Handbooks, applicable State/Federal regulations and procedures manuals. Ability to write schedules and conduct written correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before small and large groups.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be considered loud at times. Driver’s license required for local travel between church and applicable functions.
